Meet our model-search picks: everyday folks showing off great looks for fall

It’s fun to look at the latest fashions and imagine ourselves wearing them. Trouble is—our readers tell us—models make all clothes look good.
So how can we tell if the new styles would work for us? Here’s how: for this year’s fall fashion preview, instead of hiring models, we searched the nation for the real folks.* We then treated our five picks to a weekend in the Big Apple, where they got in touch with their inner Armani.
Says Frank Hielema, 54, a physical therapist: "I don’t have a lot of confidence in my own sense of style. But when I put those clothes on, I felt pretty darn good." As the pages of our photo gallery show, you don’t have to be Christie Brinkley or Pierce Brosnan to look smashing!
